Pros

Good pay for just graduating. Eventually your college counterparts will catch up and overpass you in salary, but you cant beat military benefits.

Cons

Deployment looms overhead. Sometimes the navy works extremely inefficiently. Your job is very dynamic so many have a different experience. Attitude is everything, but you need to make sure the military is right for you.

Benefits are great. Pay is very comparable for someone with 10 years experience in engineering. The area is good for a family.

Cons

Ability to be promoted is limited by time in rank, fitreps, etc. Also, the being required to relocate every few years can be hard on a family.
