Pros

World Travel, (I've been to 23 different countries in as short as 6 years). School Benefits (GI Bill just got great, and you can take classes for free while your still in without limiting your benefits). Perspective.

Cons

Time away from home puts stress on personal relationships. Technical positions are under compensated compared to outside pay scales. Biggest influence on pay advancement is Navy need for your particular rating at the next pay grade, and less to do with your skills.

Exciting work, world travel, great training, great peers, and a chance to serve your country.

Cons

Moving every two years but that can also be a pro.

Tremendous Opportunity…But You Have To Take It!

You can literally do most anything, from walking on the bottom of the ocean or on the moon. Very diverse environment. Challenging work.

Cons

You have to really think about what you want to do, then go and do it. Challenging to maintain life-balance.
