Pros

From the very beginning, the Navy offers you a career with the opportunity travel, advance, assume greater responsibility and ultimately become an effective leader.

Cons

It can be very challenging to balance a family life with your career. I have been deployed three times in the last five years. These long periods of separation place an enormous strain on your relationships.

Pros

Travel. family separation aside, deployments can be fun. A sense of belonging to something larger than yourself, much like a fraternity.

Cons

Prepare to spend time away from your family. Not so bad when one is young, but over the years it gets more difficult
