Pros

Working at NCTAMS PAC provided hands-on experience in a mission-critical environment that directly supports real-world operations. The level of responsibility early on is higher than most civilian roles, which forces rapid growth in both technical and operational awareness. Strong exposure to network operations, systems administration, and DoD security practices. Team cohesion is generally solid, and you build lasting relationships with people who are driven and capable. The sense of purpose behind the work is real and motivating.

Cons

Like most military roles, work-life balance can be inconsistent depending on operational tempo. Processes can be slow due to bureaucracy, and decisions are not always made at the lowest level. Pay does not match the level of responsibility compared to civilian equivalents, especially in technical roles. Some leadership variability, your experience can heavily depend on your chain of command.
