Pros

Global outlook; multicultural environment; goals of the organization; international exposure; opportunity to mobilize unified decisions and action on global progress and to promote cooperation among countries.

Cons

Excessive bureaucracy; bad models of management (too vertical); incentives, values and vision of the organization do not match; difficult to understand the role of supervisors (accountability is a challenge); most work done by consultants

Pros

had a wonderful work experience with UNICEF and UNFPA. the people were good and office policies are just right; work pressure is just right.

Cons

all depends on management style of the boss,.. but poor leadership can lead to turfing and polarization of staff. and staff satisfaction very limited career opportunities.
