very toxic company culture

Pros

The only real pro was that they had a lot of good and kind people working for them. Those people made the day to day worth it.

Cons

Toxic culture. Very hard to get information or an answer for anything. Everyone is just given the run around. All of the internal processes are incredibly overcomplicated. People are given more work to do than they could possibly handle. Managers were expected to spend their own money on company expenses and it took months to be reimbursed. I am not talking $25-$100. I am talking sometimes up to $1k. Managers also never really get time off. You are expected to work around the clock with no work/life balance. Promises and agreements were made, then broken.

Pros

Good pay, pays on time

Cons

The company pays well. If you do not have a job at all then it's a good one to start with but do not plan to stay longer than 6 months. I didn't interact with the higher manager so don't know about them. I will talk about my immediate manager in New York office UK visa center. The work was fine, but the environment was toxic. The manager used to like the people of her color or the people who used to bootlick her. There was uneven distribution of work always. One group of people barely worked in the office so most of the work had to be done by other people. If you complain about workload she used to show attitude. Moreover, she set a hourly target for the task. Some people used to meet 10-20% of the target daily, she didn't say anything to them because they are her favorite ones. She always created pressure, periodically meet with the hardworking employees one on one to create fear, intimidation of losing the job, baseless allegation & reminding that the employee isn't meeting the target (even if the person is the most hardworking in the room). Very much demotivating. The people who used to bootlick the manager was always busy with gossiping, making cliques, laughing loudly, randomly walking from office room to pantry/ restroom. Some of them used to go for 2 hours of lunch break. The incompetent manager simply overlooked that while creating pressure on other employees and finishing daily task. However, most of my coworkers were helpful. If you complain about racism to HR, they do very little. You don't expect any appreciation from the manager all. She loved to take all the credits. Total dictatorship. There is immense presence of unprofessionalism.

Pros

The job isn’t hard. It’s basic data entry and the coworkers are nice.

Cons

If you work on the front office, you’ll get a lot of heat from frustrated applicants. The consulate are the ones who make the decision so it makes it hard for people to understand your not that one’s making the calls so it can be draining. It’s understaffed so expect to work a little more and take on more tasks.
