      Pros

      The company has products that are very appreciated by the market, so the reputation is very high. But also competencies and people are great.

      Cons

      Sometime internal process are not well defined, and information sometime are not easy to find. But the company is workday by in simplifying it!

      Pros

      Still has a culture of technical innovation and "engineering driven" approach but that is gradually moved by management and business/political considerations. Salaries are definitely on the higher end and hours can be flexible, benefits are great and various on campus extra activities are plentiful and often fun.

      Cons

      Last 2-3 years there was a gradual shift in Company culture from a "large startup" to a more IBM/Oracle style corporate giant with increasingly political atmosphere. Recent acquisition of parents company EMC by Dell and related realignment of workforce continue to add to feeling of somewhat uncertain future for VMware employees.

      Pros

      Great to be working in a forward looking company full of smart and driven people. Great flexibility with work-at-home policy. Good benefits. Recently upgraded their parental leave for all parents (father, mother and adoption). A number of learning and development programs up for grabs to those looking to grow.

      Cons

      Work-at-home also means less interpersonal interaction. A recent change to the annual performance review process does not feel as transparent anymore.
