Pros

VMware is truly a leader in our industry with a great breadth of tools & capabilities. There is real opportunity in EUC, NSX, & VSAN. The benefits are good, and the pay is above average. You can make a lot of money in the right situation.

Cons

My entire management team is stuck in Salesforce 24 hours a day. There is very little organization and a clear lack of leadership. It's evident that mid-level management is being told what to do rather than helping contribute to our success. VMware is struggling with becoming a matrixed sales organization, and the technical sales organization is an absolute joke across the board. You WILL be on your own, and expected to sink or swim.

Great strategy & vision Good brand recognition Gets you in the door with customers with the brand name Not as structured as some very mature organisations so there is a little bit of scope

Cons

Lack of an ability to execute sales operations is non-existent Spend way too much time on back end systems No ISR support so all admin left to senior AE's Quite poor spenders on employee events

Wrong people get rewarded for salary increases Also, too much internal politics, and VMware does not listen to their customers about keeping things simple. Salaries poor compared to other upcoming technology companies.
