Pros

VMWare has great corporate responsibility, they care how we fit in the community and give back generously around the world. Products are solid and the employees care about what they deliver.

Cons

As we approach 80-90% market penetration with virtualization, the company is struggling to figure out how it will transform itself into the future. With the stock in a big slump, many are feeling the pinch. The stock strategy to retain talent is no longer working and the bleeding of talent has already begun.

still a few smart co-workers left, getting fewer by the week...good training programs still intact, although in the process of scaling down...

Cons

very political all over the place, no where to hide. bad mid management, upper management all just have been shuffled, the CXOs all are about one year on the job. they are well aware of the saturation of VM market, the threat from Docker...Open Compute...etc. The PTO is gone, you are suppose to have "unlimited" time off, most end up getting less time off.
