I found the environment and culture difficult to adapt to and thrive in. There was a lack of support/resources for my role when I originally started with the company. As time went on and I reported to a different executive, I no longer felt like a valued member of the team. I would provide input or feedback on areas where I saw gaps and thought improvements could be made, but they were either ignored or barely acknowledged. There was a lot of favoritism going on; MAJOR gaslighting from two executives towards me (one in particular), as well as other verbal and emotional/mental abuse. I made efforts to be open, honest and transparent with my feelings and how various scenarios were being perceived or handled, but it backfired. Two other colleagues were experiencing the same behaviors from one of the same executives, so we all went to Employee Relations with our ongoing concerns. The executive actually black-balled one of my colleagues so she was unable to take advantage of another career opportunity at the company (very unfortunate). Other than a minor slap on the wrist to the executive, nothing was done. I have NEVER been treated so badly in all my years of working in the tech field (30+ years) and I would never recommend anyone work at VMware. All three of us ultimately resigned and I understand there have been countless additional complaints against the individual.
