Pros
VMware has an amazing culture. Expectations for performance are high but there is a tremendous amount of passion in this company so if you are up for it, you will excel. I love the innovation and collaboration that I see every day. I have worked for companies that "talk" culture but VMware lives it. Everything moves very quickly...and change is constant. This type of environment is not for everybody but if you thrive on being challenged and look forward to making an impact vs. just having a job then you will love VMware. The benefits are strong. I have been impressed with the executive level leadership and have had several great direct managers since I have been here. I have also been impressed with the transparency of communication throughout the company and love the organizational commitment to give back to the community.
Cons
I would like to see more aggressive salary adjustments for existing employees that do a better job of keeping pace with what the market is paying. Other companies may offer a more competitive salary but the opportunities for professional development may be less, so it depends on what motivates you.
