Pros

Benefits are decent, pay is not bad. People are generally good to work with, YMMV but I made many friends there.

Cons

Except for a few teams which work on industry leading technologies, most teams have very poorly planned projects working on dull things that make you a button pusher. Staying there too long can erode your skills and industry value.

Pros

Vmware brand. Reasonable Compensation. Culture is better than other companies in India. Vmware is a good company with some great leaders and engineers. It is a very employee friendly company with good benefits and policies.

Cons

The cons listed here only applies to EUC Desktop Bangalore group - - Fearful environment – No body dares to speak against the Director, If you speak you will be thrown out of the bus. Firings are mandatory twice a year January and July. - Middle-level management is only a message broker from top to bottom. There is no message broker from bottom to top. Middle level management lacks basic management and technical skills. Managers only follow commands from the Director, they are not allowed to voice their opinion, if they speak they will be axed. - Undue favoritisms - based on how much time you spend with the Director, who is completely perception driven and lacks fundamental rationalism. - No process around appraisals. They use some random number generator biased with favouritism. - Non existent HR - Consistently poor ratings in internal employee survey which is far low than vmware standards - HR doesn't exist. - Join any team in vmware but never join EUC Desktop team in Bangalore.
