Good company but hopeless management

Pros

Great technology, but products full of bugs. Good stocks and good office location. You can get better jobs after working in vmware for sometime.

Cons

No recognition process. no Reward & recognition unlike companies. No Internal job postings. Promotions are decided by Sr. Managers and directors with no transparency. Though technology is good but the Management has no clue about running operations.

Pros

VMware is a terriific company to work for if you want to work for the virtualization industry leader with a great vision.

Cons

Work you will because there is not a very good work/life balance at VMware. While it's nice to be so busy, especially in this economy, sometimes a good employee can burn out.

The core business is has some very smart and capable people.

Cons

The company is trying to grow into new businesses before the core business goes away, and they have no idea how to do so. Middle management is incompetent, and the company is divided into a number of warring feifdoms.
