Excellent work life balance Very good brand value outside

Cons

Due to less competition very averse to changes (especially for someone coming from startup kind of atmosphere) India office has 99% work in JAVA -- nothing related to computations efficiency Work in India involves more collaboration than solving actual complex technical problems which stay in HQ Not good for someone looking for technical challenges

Lots of great people who want to do the right thing and are passionate about winning in their market. Compelling solutions that customers are adopting broadly. Employees are empowered to build plans and execute.

Cons

Many transitions happening at the company at once - employees are struggling to feel informed and certain about the future. Not clear what impact will be of Dell acquisition, recent leadership changes, market transitions around shift to cloud and lack of clarity on what role VMware will play. Leadership does not all appear to aligned and in lock step going forward about how the company will navigate all these transitions. Work pace is very fast - challenge is that everyone is dealing with what is urgent, not what is strategic...

The people, snacks, work hard play harder mentality. Great organization, would have stayed longer, but a better paying opp came around.

Cons

Compensation is a little low on the base side. Still able to make great money and enjoy life, but the vmware acquisition changed things for a little while.
