I am happy to work at VMware. There are some problems and thing I dislike, but all big enterprises have them.

Pros

Work with very smart and motivated people. The managers are all very good at technical level. Good compensation. Smart people are valued.

Cons

As many other big enterprise companies the processes are hurting productivity of the employees. Some time the politics is too much and can be sensed at the lower ranks.

VMware has a rich culture of diversified and friendly people where you can always share knowledge. You learn a new stuff everyday when you walk into office and always leave office with a smile. I bet it happens. This is the best place to start your career with.

Cons

As a growing company, there are some limitations with management, where in visibility of complex issues about the employees is less. Work life balance is not up to the mark. Should work in heavy pressure environments most of the times.
