Pros

VMware has some good products and had a lot of potential to be a great company. The base pay and benefits are decent. Lovely campus and physical surroundings.

Cons

The worst middle management that I have ever seen. Tech Pubs in particular is rife with bureaucratic politics, favoritism and unethical managers asking employees to help them spy on other employees Departmental politics hurt VMware because they foster a culture where those who invest long hours in office politics are rewarded rather than the innovaters, team players and hard workers.

Lack of respect for time (Scheduled meetings had freq' no shows or little notice) Excluded from team meetings and discssions Left to fend for yourself (If you're lucky they'll point you in the right direction Senior Managers do not seem to know what they want or how they want it They push dates and % complete on a project plan without understanding the scope and detail required Looks like it was once a great place, but trying to save money w lots of cheaper consultants
