There is tremendous tension and mistrust among most groups. A lot of senior managers have come in over the last two years from failing software companies and have brought their people with them, in some cases entire departments at the cost of some long time dedicated VMware people. Silos exist everywhere and there is no accountability for internal programs or projects. HR can never get anything done. Just completed annual reviews and many people never got a meeting with their managers. Annual pay increases were late, arrived today and many many people received nothing. This will be two years for alot of people who did not get pay increases.

middle management is useless, fast turnaround of employees, communication about changes is kept to the minimum. If the manager likes you you're fine, but if they decide they don't, sooner or later you'll be gone, no matter how good you are at your job
