      Pros

      Good benefits (healthcare, wellness stipend, and Beneplace deals) Raghu is great

      Cons

      Literally everything else. I would give this place 0 stars if I could - how does this place keep winning “best place to work” awards? I have worked some really bad jobs in my life but this place takes the cake. Disorganized, unengaged, disinterested management. No concrete plans or strategies for anything, and you’ll be ignored if you try to make some. People are more cliquey than a middle school cafeteria and if you’re not in their friend circle, good luck trying to get them to work on projects with you. A great place to “work” if you want to fly under the radar and do nothing - I’ve never been met with so much resistance to try to do the job I was hired for. If you love feeling undervalued, underworked, and unappreciated, VMware is the place for you!

      Only 3 out of 10 people making quota/VMware squeezes sales

      Pros

      Great culture, tech and sales work well together, able to entertain customers, marketing group is stellar and executives are reachable, solid tech stack but cloud future is sketchy with AWS and Azure taking us for a ride.

      Cons

      VMware is being ruined by CRAZY HIGH quotas, only 3 out of 10 people are making the number, it is not the same opportunity I came here for 5 years ago, unreasonable to have quotas go up 1x - 2.5x in the last 2 years. Until VMware fixes this and quotas are attainable, I would not take a position here in sales. 60 hour work week to barely break even on my number. Making $100k less than a year ago, unreal.

      Completely missing what’s really going on

      I’m leaving so I can’t offer this up anymore.

      Cons

      Managers who do anything to advance and a culture so shifted to one side that they don’t see what they are doing to their teams. Complete chaos in organizations and senior leaders completely out of touch. Leadership doesn’t communicate to the do-ers and as such they can’t do their jobs. When they don’t do their jobs they are belittled and demoralized.
