Pros

Engineer friendly and you get to work with really smart people. Great benefits and day to day perks. All the resources you could want.

Cons

A bit too much red tape and long, slow development cycles. Lots of layers of management.

Pros

Technology technology technology....you get to work on the latest and niche technology. You have a young and dynamic team members working along with you who love exploring new technologies. People who are passionate about IT and MDM have a great scope here.

Cons

A specific group of people talk in their native language and i can hardly get what they are discussing. And i get a feeling that the better chunk of work is given to the same group as well by the lead(who by the way belongs to the same set). The HR team is of no use here. All the decisions are taken by only 2 people, both being spearheads of technology group. The policies are not so great as far as work life balance is concerned. The work from home concept exists but only to a privileged few. They do encourage people in participating in Hackathons and patent filing and white paper submissions, but its made as a part of your goals rather than a self/team innovation and very much becomes a criteria for your hikes and promotion. They look for a person to be in office and work 24hrs just be given an average rating. After VMware acquisition, thought the policies would be changed, but there were no significant changes to benefit us. All we Indian employees get is to reimburse gym bills and got an upgrade on the referral bonus, no leave policy change(just 15 days of leaves), no so called VMWare employee perks showcased, nor did anyone come and let us know what policies are coming into effect. If someone is merely passionate about work and who is looking for research kind of roles without expecting any employee benefits, this is the right place for you to be the managers fav.

Pros

You are just out of college, you get to learn new technologies. Most of the people use this as an opportunity to learn new stuff before moving on to a bigger company since this company will not match compensation, benefits, and are extremely rigid. If you are senior don't even think of joining, Awesome recruiting folks that have tried to write all the good reviews here :) One of the ex-recruiters even admitted to the fact that the management did not care or wanted them to write fake reviews regularly.

Cons

I was here 2-3 years from startup to now acquired mode. Things have gotten worst, absolutely no promotions within even if you might have worked & proved yourself. Only 2 people make decisions in R&D. They do not want to make any investment in your career ( ask them about how many people have gone to training or attended conferences etc, they tell you to attend it on your own time) Petty office politics makes the worst. All the good people in the company have left. Their attrition rate at this point is more than their growth rate. Most of the middle or senior management are sticking to their jobs since they do not want to loose their stocks/options so the quality is drastically going down. Surprisingly, office in India is treated as people who can work on bugs and small features, extremely sad and disappointing to see this kind of attitude towards an offshore development center. My peers who were not US citizens reported that they were required to pay for legal attorneys fees ($2,000 - $5,000) if they decide to apply for your work visa. They also use this as a leverage to get more work done. Product Managers and Sales try to crunch in features just because of 1 deal. Absolutely no vision in other products other than their MDM one. It's a big ballon of crap and one day it is going to burst.
