VMware - A great company to work for and continuing to get better
Pros
VMware's commitment through the VMware Foundation to give back to the community through donation matches, programs to provide time off work with charitable organizations, and their ongoing presence and efforts at all our company events to encourage employees to take advantage of all these offerings is really special. Leadership up and down the ladder are very interested in providing the best opportunities possible for the employees and they have been on an active drive for many years now to continue to evaluate and improve. Truly fantastic and something I haven't seen in such force before. Opportunities for personal career growth through many different training options, established programs, and internal opportunities to move around and work in many different areas. I can't stress enough the opportunities for growth, promotion, etc. There are so many ways to learn about our products, interesting new projects in technical depth, obtain training on job and career skills, contribute back to the community(!), and opportunities to be visible and acknowledged for your contributions at many different leadership levels. Benefits are rock solid. Hard (and good) work is acknowledged. Flexibility in the schedule is superb so long as it's not abused. Coworkers are smart and driven! Innovation is a key component to VMware's culture and is highly, highly encouraged and many opportunities to demonstrate innovative ideas and even foster them into being are available.
Cons
I'm not sure if this is common industry wide, but the frequency of reorganizations seems very excessive.
