Pros

You do get a good Technical background and if you can survive the metrics you can obtain good outbound calling skills.

Cons

You can start to feel like you work to make money for the field, even the managers won't deny that the field is doing little and making money and going to club on the backs of the inside. Open hostility between the two groups.

Pros

Health insurance begins on the first day. the product is amazing and does what it is supposed to.

Cons

I've never worked at a company where those that bring in the revenue have the least amount of power. Outside management regularly takes credit for deals hard won by the inside team and nothing is said or done by inside management regarding this. The outside management team would regularly raid the pipeline for deals and have no accountability when those deals were lost. the outside management team is paid bloated salaries, have done little to improve the bottom line, and are allowed to make decisions with the inside team who they have little or no interaction with. Inside management does nothing to fight for their teams and as a result turnover has become rampant. Quotas and territories have no logic, thought, or reason and have tended to do nothing but lower morale.

Pros

Product works and users generally love it The checks cash

Cons

They change their mind on a biweekly basis as to what to focus on because of their inexperience. They put quotas at numbers they want to hit but have poor logic behind them. The training program is a joke. They offer little guidance after the first couple weeks even to Junior employees where this is their first sales job that need follow up training. The team structure allows poor performers to hide while more effective team members pick up the load. Pay is average for most sales but low for soft
