Good job if your not interested in career advancement and you like stocking shelves.

Pros

The health care plan, profit sharing, public interaction, and employee discount (15% off) are the best part about this job.

Cons

You are basically a glorified stock boy who can do refunds. There is little room for advancement, you are basically waiting for a store manager to retire. You also have to deal with rotating schedules, frequent change of locations (once a year on average), holidays, nights, and weekends.

Pros

Walgreens is everywhere so you can transfer if you move or if it's more convenient. Free clinic. Walgreens also paid for my pharmacy certification. The employee discount isn't bad either.

Cons

Pharmacy deals with a lot of stress. Everyday someone will push your button. The pay does not make it worth it. Recently with the economic downfall Walgreens has takin away any kind of employee appreciation. Stars (for customer service awards) and gift cards for holiday ( we now get days when our discount is 25% off). They also have cut hours and if your new expect them to be your hours that will disappear.
