Pros

The compensation package for Store Managers is well above average compared to other retail drugstores, and in many cases, above other retailers in general. If your store looks good and runs well, the District Manager will leave you alone, in many cases. The computer systems and most policies and procedures really help the store run well. The pharmacy systems are among the most advanced in the industry, and the company treats its pharmacists well. The company has made many wise decisions in the past year to eliminate waste and improve efficiencies at the store level.

Cons

The company has slashed many positions at the corporate level, and has eliminated many district positions. Therefore, the opportunities to grow above the Store Manager level are practically non-existent. The districts are getting larger and larger, and although there are opportunities to mentor other Store Managers as a "Community Leader" of 4-6 stores, the opportunity to attain a DM position are difficult, if not impossible. The company recently began requiring Store Managers to close one night a week (until 10:30 or 11:00 PM).

Pros

my schedule has for the most part been something I was able to choose. most of the people I work with are decent and good hearted.

Cons

one of my managers is not competent and when applying for the management program I was told not to worry about learning the numbers for the company, and because of that I did not get the job.

Pros

It's nice to have a small staff, it's nice to not be rushed, okay work environment, love most of the customers(lots of regulars), pretty decent pay compared to other places

Cons

doing slave work all the time, the moodiness level of the management, how management never fills employees in on what's going on in the store
