Pros

Pay. At this point in time, I can't think of anything else to say about Walgreens. At least I still have a job for a few more months.

Cons

Job Security, scheduling, not enough help in Pharmacy or in the store. No vacations after September. Uniforms not very comfy.

Pros

Walgreens has good benefits, vacation, paid holidays, 6 sick days per year and even a special day you can take off. My management is great. Will work along side with you to get projects done and lets me take initiative and use my ideas in my department.

Cons

If you were to ask me about 6 months ago, I would have probably not been able to find any cons with my job. However, now with all of the "rewiring" they are doing, it has become increasingly hard to stay motivated and "proud" to work there. When you come to work, you have to worry that you may not have your position with the company. They have cut hours, jobs. I wanted to stay with Walgreens and eventually retire but with all these changes, that may be a thing of the past. What happened to the old Walgreens where they cared about the employees. What about the 4 way test that they have always stood by?

Pros

Good pay for retail management with fast promotion opportunities. The profit sharing plan is excellent you'll receive 3.30 for every $1 contributed. Starting off you receive 2 weeks paid vacation.

Cons

Promotions are based on office politics not job performance. They will transfer you to different stores often making you travel up to an hour drive, if you decline a transfer you will never get promoted. They work you on holidays. You can't use vacation time during Oct 30 - Jan 1, also you must use vacation time each year or you will lose it.
