Pros

Great pay-but be prepared to work your butt off and have no family time. I worked 65 plus hours a week and was let go because of an hour discrepancy.

Cons

There is no ethics or morality in this market.........hard work, dedication and loyalty to the company mean nothing.......too many cliques. Budget cut backs only hurt customer service....you can't service your customers when you don't have any help on the floor or the store manager is back in the pharmacy helping because they are short-handed. They expect you do something with nothing.Numbers, Numbers, Numbers.......that's all they are interested in.

Pros

Corporate maintains a strict no prejudice (i.e. race, sexual orientation) work environment. Excellent health benefits and profit sharing benefits (for retail). Same sex couples get the same level of health care.

Cons

Retail is awful in general.

Pros

The best part of working for Walgreens is the customers. It's retail so you do get the few customers that are angry about everything however, most of the customers are friendly and nice. The benefits are excellent compared to other retailers. The profit sharing plan can't be beat. With the right staff and store manager work can be fun along with getting the job done.

Cons

Recent staffing cut-backs make it hard to accomplish the standards set by Walgreens. Pay cuts for management are unfair considering the same amount of work is expected with less hours per week. The management staff keeps the stores together and by reducing thier wages it sets a solemn tone. There is a saying, "Don't bite the hand that feeds you."
