Pros

Walgreens has a very good benefits package, and from word of mouth from friends it is near the top for retail drug stores packages. The pay is on par with most places, I have no complaints about my salary or my yearly bonus that is earned after you become an EXA. If you like working in a retail environment and know what that entails going into the job, then it is a good place to work. But be aware that because EXAs are salaried, they are worked like dogs, while others get to leave at 5 on the dot.

Cons

Walgreens as a company has an inherent downside of being open all day every day in some locations, and I do not like working over night at all. The time I put in compared to the praise I recieve for my efforts is ridiculously poor. The company just expects you to stop everything and put it first, but will absolutely not do the same for you if the opportunity arrives. Trust me, if anyone in upper management makes you feel as though you're their friend and that they would help you out before thinking of the company in even little matters, they won't.

Pros

I would say Benefits and good pay for management. Flexible hours and a good place to learn a lot about retail management.com

Cons

Rude and nasty customers are the downside. Also, a lot of gossip goes on w/ the hourly employees. The biggest downside is its very corporate, so you really do have a lot of freedom to run your store a certain way.

Pros

Job security, knowing that the company isn't going to fail tomorrow.

Cons

It's gotten too big. It feels like you've become a number and know one cares about you anymore. They take away employees and add more work. There's no difference between Walgreens and CVS anymore.
