Pros

The employee discount is the only pro with the company over the past 5 years

Cons

Employee abuse. Micromanaging everything. Lack of help. Expectations are based on unrealistic metrics. District managers are very condescending and are nonpharmacists. You cannot grow nor be successful with the company. Computers, printers, registers were always breaking down. No one has gotten a raise for 3 or 4 years and there is no investment in employee retention. The company was better run by pharmacists not businessmen.

Pros

Specialty side of Walgreens is better and you are given help and support. More people know what they are doing. Great place to start but do not stay too long. Get experience and get out.

Cons

You are working for a Company that only cares about the bottom line. No communication and training is provided. They like to print great things and initiatives they come up with but never train the stores. It is all a show for the market and making corporate feel better.

Pros

Store Managers typically work Monday - Friday 7:30-5:00 with 2-3 Saturdays every month. Not a bad schedule for a retail manager.

Cons

Very high expectations as benefits, bonus, pay, staffing are all going down. Bonus used to be 10-20% or more of annual pay, now they are systematically eliminating the bonus to $0. Most Assistant Store Managers make at or above what they now offer new store managers. $40-$45K.
