Pros

Decent pay, paid vacation, sick days, 401k, employee discounts, flexible hours/days, somewhat able to transfer from store to store.

Cons

This used to be a great company to work for. However, in light of recent company restructuring, hours are cut constantly, and positions are continuously being revamped. Employees are expected to be robots with forced greetings. You are always being pushed to sell something and expected to meet certain sales quotas.

Pros

Once you "make it" within the store, as in a Store Manager position the pay is great. Benefits aren't bad. Profit sharing is a nice added bonus, however it isn't like it used to be.

Cons

Where to begin... horrible pay for anyone less than a Store Manager or Pharmacist! The company as a whole is so focused on becoming a fortune 50 company that they do not care about their employees or what they do to get them there. The number 1 focus of the company is customer service, great....but that should be number 2! Take care of your employees and they will provide great customer service! The expectations at the store level are merely not feasible. WAYYYYY too many dumb acronyms...ECC.... trust me, the employees feel ignorant saying "thank you & BE WELL" or "how may I help you get, stay, and live well today?" seriously... let us be friendly with the customers and have a normal conversation with them... stop making us sound like robots. Back 5 or 6 years ago this company actually made the employees feel like they were somebody and like they cared... now we are just a number and they could care less what you have done for them. They never say thank you, its always..."but you should have done this or that". Too many chiefs and not enough indians! Work-Life balance... I work 5.5 days a week...between 45-60 hours. In the month of december I get 4 days off...they rest are full days sometimes from 7am-8pm...I have no life outside of this company.Training... a new employee is lucky to get an hour on the register training before they are left alone the rest of the day... why?!? Because we are completely understaffed because corporate gives us NO HOURS! Management literally has to do everything... granted I make decent pay after the decade I have given to this company however, when I am an ASM, beauty advisor, cashier, photo tech, pharmacy tech, stocker, vendor receiving, customer service rep, and janitor for clean-up in aisle 6 at the same time... I should probably make twice the pay! You expect me to do all those tasks at the same time..with a smile on my face and wear a god awful vest that is hot.... and provide the best customer service ever to keep the customer coming to us rather than CVS or Wal-Mart.... oh and I forgot... BE WELL!

Pros

Many locations, so you can work close to home. That's all I can think of.

Cons

Working conditions at this company has gone even further down hill in the past 2 years, after it had already gone worse the 2 years before that. They’ve cut all the help to bare bones minimum, so you’re basically doing fifteen different things at once and exhausted even at the start of your shift. You no longer get raises. They cut overtime as of September……..so you get a flat rate even if you work extra shifts. They have now “restructured” bonuses so pretty much only the pharmacy managers will get bonuses (no staff or overnights RPH bonuses). Benefits have all been dumped onto the Obamacare marketplace…..we will see how that goes, but more than likely YOU will end up paying a larger percentage for your own health coverage. In 2014, they are transitioning into a new PTO format for combined vacation days and sick time. By doing so they have essentially eliminated all the banked sick days from hardworking veteran employees who never called in sick over the years. Once January rolls around these workers will no longer have access to these sick days (even if sick!) until ALL their vacation days have been used first. Getting sick a lot in 2014 = no vacation for you! Just look at all the negative 1 star reviews and you will see they are all from Managers, Asst. Managers, Pharmacists, and Pharmacy technicians……not temporary, part-time workers. Basically, all the star employees of the company are saying the same thing. Don't apply here!
