Pros

Team building even during the times the store has gone high shrink, (loss of finances) and still able to work and come together to identify the opportunities that caused the store to go high shrink, correct those exceptions as a team and work to come under high shrink. Creating the opportunity to regain profit, bonuses and lift moral as a whole throughout the store management and the store associates.

Cons

Over the last 2 years our store has gone high shrink and my personal yearly evaluation is based on how the 'store' is run/operated by the store manager and it is not based on my own personal achievements. Because of this, I have not received a raise in 2 years solely based on my own achievements, my own job description. The store manager has control of how the store is run/operated and my position does not, yet my yearly eval and raise is based on how he/she runs the store.

Pros

No direct supervisor at the store. Set schedule, descent pay. Salaried position with many benefits, some start on day 1 if you are an outside hire.

Cons

Other management does not always want to work with you, and can often see you as the enemy. Hard to change anything within the store because people are set in their ways, and APMs often don't stay around long.
