Pros

- More work/life balance than other companies - People are nice and helpful - Job is very stable - Career growth is guaranteed but slow and limited - NW Arkansas is a great place to raise a family - Company is well-recognized - Change is happening (i.e. ISD trying to be more of a techie friendly area)

Cons

Job: - Doesn't feel like a real software/IT shop: refurbished warehouse for a building, many people not interested interested in programming - Lower pay compared to other markets - 2 weeks of vacation until you work 5 years...then you get 1 more...just sad - Benefits are terrible - Technical grow is limited - Company says you can move within company after 1.5 years, but the change you will find a position you like is slim, if you can even find a position at all. - Going for a managed outcome model, not good for developers who want to code - Very slow to adopt standard tech practices like agile - Project process not streamlined - Change control process extremely painful (looking at you, Remedy 7) - Computer equipment given to us are usually on the cheap end Location: - Not for singles - Not for younger people who like to go out - Very conservative - A lot of natives here come from an agricultural background - Very expensive to fly in/out via XNA

Pros

I can't think of any pros. May be job security

Cons

Low Salary. They usually trick you saying about bonus but if you decide to leave in between you get nothing. Not so great with technology. You will be generally put into different technology from your skill set. Longer hours. They say 45 hour work week but end up working more than that. Not so great benefits. Infrastructure is bad. Can't get things done due to very bad infrastructure.
