Great Company but with Challenges, Cost and Risk

Pros

The President of the eCommerce business is a visionary leader who has kept the business moving forward inspite of significant weakness across the senior leadership team. There are some incredibly talented people in middle and senior leadership. The parent company, Walmart is invested heavily in winning at eCommerce. Walmart is a great resume builder as other employers believe if you can make it there - you must be good. WeC is trying really hard to be a cool, Silicon Valley Company and leveraging everything they can to make the workplace "fun". There are career opportunities if you can survive the turbulence. One of the Valley's top 15 paying employers in total compensation but benefits aren't competitive.

Cons

Certain weak key senior leaders are killing the motivation of talented individuals in their organizations. Politics isn't as much of an issue as the protection of sacred cows that repel talented individuals. Lack of real accountability is also an issue along with scapegoating. If you decide to work for Walmart eCommerce be prepared to defend yourself to family, friends, former coworker and strangers. There are good things about Walmart, just prepare to spend your life explaining what they are as the Bentonville leadership is intoxicated on their own koolaid and don't realize how disliked the company is outside of NWA.
