Pretty good if you can avoid the petty people

Pros

Lots of interesting projects, huge ability to drive massive changes in industry, access to best people in the industry (at suppliers/3rd parties)

Cons

Lots of bureaucracy can get old, many people looking to be a roadblock in order to hold you back and not expose their laziness, hard to get internal capital for investment in things that seem obvious, hard to get leadership to decide on tough business questions that really need answers

Pros

Schedules are flexible and you get to learn a lot about the store. Management is nice with requests. Fellow associates are fun to work with because they come from similar backgrounds. Customers need a lot of help so that gives you an excuse to skip work.

Cons

Management can sometimes expect something unachieveable. And by some miracle you work really hard by skipping your 15 minute breaks and finish all the work, the only recognition you get is more work and they expect you to finish that now.
