Pros

The coworkers are the only upside.

Cons

Walmart continues to exploit workers by overworking and underpaying. When I first started our department was fully staffed. As people either stopped showing up for work or eventually were fired, management kept saying they would hire more people. Instead it became less and less people with more and more to do. Nothing was ever good enough. Concerns were ignored by management. If you weren't a favourite, they made sure you knew. They also made sure hours were just under full time so you couldn't receive benefits. If you had a schedule change, they would blatantly ignore it and then deny requests off because you can't work certain days.

Pros

Good PTO/PPTO accumulation over time. Co-workers rock. Work phone to get job done.

Cons

Lack of equipment for all jobs, communication is usually terrible from upper management. Last year we were told our teams were getting a minimum raise to $17 per hour. Those who have been with the company a long time (I have been here 11 years now) fully expected our years of raises to stack and bring us close to or at the new cap of $23 per hour. I myself did the math and I would have gotten just over $21/hr. The company slapped us in the face very hard by only raising us to the new minimum as if we were new hires, told us our extra vacation is what sets us apart from new hires. They took away bonuses, and really ANY reason to stay long other than vacation time. They hurt us bad. In addition every single year without fail they raise our insurance prices by at least $10 per paycheck. Don't listen to anything about $17/hr for some positions being great, they don't care about us. They are getting every penny back and then some, all while spitting in the faces of the loyal.
