Pros

Opportunity, particularly for those early in their careers. Due to its size and scope, there are opportunities in a myriad of areas and they encourage associates to proactively manage their careers. All you need to do is convince the hiring manager that you can do the job.

Cons

Not really a "con" but if you want to advance your career it requires the same degree of effort and networking as a traditional job search. Visibility is important. Also, it can be challenging for newly hired mid-to-late career associates to manage their careers as "easily" as early-career associates
