Pros

You can do anything for this globally recognized and accomplished company. Great growth potential and limitless possibilities. Confidence that the company will be around for a long time. The company adapts, changes and grows with the times, technology, trends, and economy.

Cons

Lots of disrespect both from customers and associates. Lots of dramatic personnel issues. Constant degradation and demand for more, more, more. Poor overall morale at store level. Lack of consistency with policy adherence and accountability. Fear of losing your job.

Pros

Flexible schedules, except during the Christmas season. Good benefits (believe it or not). 401k, paid vacations, dental, medical, ADD, disability, sick/personal time. If you have a good attitude, and good work ethic, you can move up quickly! For many people, a part time/temp job is perfect for thier individual needs (retirement, students, bored people.....there really are people who HAVE to work).

Cons

Many of the negative aspects of this company stem from individuals. Houly associates who are not friendly, a manager or two who do not appreciate or respect thier workers. But a majority of the problems come from rude/ridiculus customers, and associates who do not appreciate the fact that they have a job, and that the company does not need/cant please them at every turn. If you dont like it, dont work here! Retail requires a certain kind of person, and many people are not cut out for this job.

Pros

I enjoy working for a company that has integrity and treats me with fairness and respect. The Career opportunities are there for those prepared to work hard. The company communicates well generally through an online system called the wire. Wal*Mart strives to keep communication lines open through it's massive workforce. Wal*Mart has many support programs available to help individuals and families and stays ahead of high tech programs.

Cons

Stressful due to understaffing on overnights with new programs requiring more than what can be accomplished with the minimum staffing throughout the company.
