Pros

Great engineers and coders. Work life balance. Utilization of newest technologies.

Cons

Walmart is a huge company, so you're very disconnected from business decisions. There is also a ranking system to get raises and promotions. There is a forced bell curve for employee performance, so someone is always going to be screwed.

Pros

Work and personal life balance are very good. Normally you are not forced to work long hours. Manager and colleagues are very helpful. Overall it is an easy company to work for in long terms.

Cons

Salary is not very competitive. But according to the city (Bentonville, AR) it is ok. The city is little boring for bachelors and party lovers.

Pros

Pantry Lunch Play area Good tech stack work place

Cons

there is nothing as such, But few teams have very less work and few have too much. And if there is a production issue you could be called any time of the day.

Walmart Response

Thank you for this encouraging response. Regarding having very less work or too much, I would recommend talking to your manager to try and figure out how this can be balanced. During lean times, we encourage associates to go for additional trainings to upskill themselves - whether classroom or online. The nature of support for production issues is as you have described - it comes with the role. Look for opportunities to see how production support roles can be rotated and how you can instrument your code to further reduce production incidents. All the best for a great career ahead.
