Pros

Job is easy to do just requires good memorization skills, there are no weekends of work required however there are some overtime work opportunities

Cons

Treat you like robots where every second of your day is mapped out. Have to meet ridiculous productivity goals. Every time a goal is met they increase the goal on a curve. Often feel like there is inadequate training and you have to learn things on your own (only after failing a quality audit do you realize things that you were never taught)

Pros

The name is very strong and respected. Easy to promote your business through using the branding. Access to multiple marketing campaigns although it takes forever to get corporate approval.

Cons

Pay. While they are competitive with other banks, the 35 bps per file means you have to close $1mm plus each month in order to make a living. Much less than the broker down the road who can make 150 bps per file easily. Underwriting is incredibly slow! At one point they REQUIRED 60 day locks while the rest of the open market was closing in 4 weeks. Now I hear they are at 30-45 day minimum and the rest of the market is at about 3 weeks. Local management seems to have been tenured and isn't looked at when production in the branches seems to be dropping.

Pros

401k match Learning curve up to a point. Customer interaction and in a professional environment Come on - you deal with money!

Cons

Ability to move up is limited Management does not care about you, they care about goals You can have 11 great months and if you have 1 bad month, you will be made to feel like crap.
