Pros

Plenty of room for advancement and is known for their training. If you want to leave and go to another bank, having Wells Fargo on your resume looks very good. Benefits are pretty good. If you can deal with the first step of being a teller, lots of room for growth. They mostly promote from within.

Cons

The selling environment is almost predatory on customers. I have seen several people come in with multiple checking accounts and savings accounts where they were being charged monthly fees. Many times, they were unaware of the account(s) because they were duped into signing up for it. Many non-English speaking customers fell prey to this. Also, the selling environment is very intense especially for tellers. They put a lot of pressure on you to hit and exceed quarterly goals. The pay is horrible and you tend to get crapped on from all directions, i.e. management, customers.

Pros

Great Benefits package Competitive Pay Good Hours (If you work in a traditional branch) Most of the team members are cool Great for Tellers or someone looking for part time work with job security and benefits

Cons

Unrealistic sales goals Micromanagers who breathe down your neck constantly hounding you for sales Too much paperwork and written reporting to management is required Promises are made to you that you will be promoted if you hit certain (unrealistic) sales numbers then when you hit those numbers you are not promoted. They do not take your tenure with the bank or current economic conditions into consideration. If you're not blowing the unrealistic numbers out of the water then you dont get promoted, and constantly get threatened to be demoted or laid off.

Pros

Great benefits, opportunities to work throughout the entire country, and many opportunities for furthering education and work towards professional certifications.

Cons

The massive size of the company can also be a detrimental, as new ideas and outside-the-box thinking can be steamrolled by this monolith. Technology in many aspects is lagging behind competitors.
