Pros

Wells provides decent pay and benefits without having a bachelor's degree, flexible time off and great training.

Cons

The sales goals are unreachable without cheating the customers. The focus for 2010 seems to be to pack as many sales people in the branches as possible, even if there is no desk for them to sit out. Constant harrassing by tellers and bankers has led many customers to flee to less aggressive banks.

Pros

401k match of 6% is cool.

Cons

Retail branches are run by middle management that have no idea what actually happens on the front lines. Employees are pressured to hit un-realistic, unattainable sales goals which lead employees to engage in unethical behavior to reach those goals, and keep their job. Management treat team members like machines. You are not a human being when employed by WF. MICRO-MANAGEMENT like you would not believe. Bankers have to submit an hourly schedule of their day and report on each activity completed during each hour of the day.

Pros

Wells Fargo itself is a wonderful company to work for. The benefits package is pretty generous, there is free parking and there are lots of team member engagement events.

Cons

WFA as a business line is sometimes overridden on things at an enterprise level which sometimes causes the employees of WFA to lose out. For instance, all business lines are required to follow the FED holiday schedule which requires employees that follow other schedules such as the NYSE schedule to lose PTO days.
