Pros

WFF is an excellent company to start out with if you are looking to begin a career in the finance industry. Decent training program to learn the ropes in lending.

Cons

The major downsides to working with the company include low salary to start, poor support and recognition, and a unattainable bonus structure in a few of the markets.

Pros

Non-branch salaries are very good for most positions; competitive bonus structure, if bonus eligible Truly walk their talk in terms of mission, values, promotion from within, professional development Very collegial atmosphere; genuine collaboration and commitment from most workers Excellent benefits Excellent communications--top notch internal web sites, frequent news briefs Strong Performance Appraisal system, including Talent Inventory for higher levels of management and skip-level interviews on annual basis

Cons

Not always easy to push through the "done that before" mentality, as so many employees have been with the organization for more than 15 years Not as open to innovation as might benefit them long-term At times, put senior executives in positions where they have no background and do not insist on training them to accommodate the "rotation" approach and ensure appropriate professional mentoring for the people under those executives who do have the experience Long bottle-neck of middle-management; hard to break through to senior levels in terms of promotions

Pros

Job security - very difficult to get fired Opportunities to transfer into a wide variety of positions and locations Open culture - generally easy to talk to people regardless of their job level Good benefits and lots of time off

Cons

It's a large corporation, so it's full of bureaucracy and politics Compensation lower than at some competitors Not a lot of prestige working at a bank these days
