Pros

Focused on new technology. Most of Revenue supports Premji Foundation for charitable causes in India

Cons

Don't apply if you are not from India. Culture is very India centric. Very command and control based with most decisions made in India. Cost driven - very cheap. Decisions take forever particularly if they involve spending any money. They build most of their operational applications internally by cobbling together code that doesn't work. Internal helpdesk is a disaster since they won't spend the money to support employees. CRM is a based on Microsoft Dynamics and is designed more to measure and babysit the sales team rather than manage the business. The CRM is the absolute worst CRM because of all the unnecessary workflows and mandatory fields. The incentive plan is designed to avoid paying people by having crazy hurdle rates and obscene level of complexity. Ombudsperson program is non functional. Local Indian Manager was abusive and threatening and after more than a year of complaints by multiple people, company did nothing to resolve. Meetings after midnight and before 6am are common and expected. They claim to be ethical but they aren't.

Pros

There are not many pros in working for Wipro, they have a very racist outlook on Americans and only hire enough to make their quota and keep their status.

Cons

Hostile and abusive working environment. Sr Mgmt. If you are not Indian, your chances of being promoted are slim and you are told that during your reviews. It is evident from any signing bonus and quarterly bonus programs. If you are assigned to PHEAA watch out, in identifying data insecurities and potential mishandling of PII, instead of trying to fix the problem they tried to hide the issues and potentially put the customer at risk. Although the customer, PHEAA was inept in their own right and had their own issues with managing personal information. In the long run, being the low cost bidder ends up costing their customers more money.

Pros

The client that Wipro has contracted me to is very relaxed, provide meals, and provide electronics for work related purposes. Wipro has a better 401k than most.

Cons

The lack of communication from team lead to higher management because it's like they are not sure what they are doing. There aren't any annual pay raises. There aren't true means to move up (not unless you work for headquarters out in India) so this is a dead end job for most people.
