Pros

- Interesting work - Prestige of organisation opens a lot of doors - Working as STC gives you a lot of flexibility for your working days, as max days are 150 for the fiscal year. You can stretch that over the year or work for 6 months straight depending on your team’s requirements

Cons

- Pay raises are stingy year on year in Country Offices, as it’s based on specific requirements to level to the next pay grade - A lot of governance from HQ teams means your options are limited for workflow

Pros

Good benefits for insurance reimbursement and employee loan with zero interest. Slow career growth.

Cons

This is only applicable to the team I worked in. Too much work, poor resource management. Less people and more work. Fear based management approach to make employees work.

Pros

Reputationally, having the WGB on your resume does wonders

Cons

Actually working here as an STC is a nightmare. No benefits whatsoever, super low pay, inconsistent work, and super uncertain. They will not hesitate to drop you.
