Lots of smart people but if you don't have a Phd forget about advancing.

Good pay and benefits. Great cause.

Cons

Very bureaucratic and outdated technology and systems. No job security as a consultant and you are forced to worry every few months about the next job. A master degree isn't even enough -- you need a Phd. There is definitely a bias against Americans.

Great international exposure, smart colleagues, no micromanagement, opportunities to visit many different countries and interact with diverse people.

Cons

Processes are bureaucratic and decisions take too long to be made, new ideas but necessary ideas/programs take too long to be implemented
