Pros

Nice office, colleagues, building view.

Cons

Almost no one in this company has ever made a strategy that is not a massive overfit so it's hard to learn true alpha making. You are judged by quantity and are required to make 30+ strategies per month. (Though making 30 is doable fast since they are all uncorrelated overfits after all). You get less then 3.01% of your strategy pnl as bonus. Which tends to be very low in first 3-4 years, since there are many researchers.

Pros

Working with bright people in a well known company.

Cons

There is a constant push for productivity that leads to data mining. Despite the job title. it is not really a research position.
