Unethical

Pros

Profit sharing, insurance wasn’t bad, medical center.

Cons

I gave them a two week notice and they walked me out without pay. Then explained to me they decide case by case who gets paid for their last two weeks. I was always a model employee never any problems, absolutely no reason I couldn’t have worked my last two weeks or just paid me.

Pros

-Hired from outside, pleased to see reviews about good ole boys club actually true statements. -Good ole boys club! Once your in you don’t have to hit production targets or transformation goals, just tag along with your bosses to lunch and request time with corporate senior managers so they can get to know you. -Say yes to corporate transformation when they are in the plant. If you follow their plans for the plant you will never be held responsible for missed goals or poorly run Kaizen events. -Production Supervisors have team leads and group leaders they do pretty much all the hard management work so treat them well! Most of GL and TL are already in the good ole boys club so just follow their lead in how they talk and act around ops managers and Corp senior directors.

Cons

-Don’t work here if you want to make a difference or changes. Corporate transformation system can’t be changed inside the plants. Just a heads up if you get hired. -Must consult with HR and plant operations manager for all personnel decisions on your team. If HR or ops manager has a different opinion on an employee just side with them, don’t ever try to disagree. -Leadership can’t take vacation days on or around plant holidays or take week long vacations during the year. This one is key for acceptance in to “boys club”. This means the plant ops managers or plant superintendents never have to cover you for being out. -really political, if you don’t like to spend most of the day working your status in the political rankings then probably not place for you. Fits my personality so I love the atmosphere just have to be always aware of who is around and what you say.

Thank you for your candid review. Although hearing these types of reviews can be disappointing, it does help us recognize how we can improve. Using Transformation as our business system at Worthington has provided great results in reducing waste and increasing productivity. Part of that is being open to new ideas and making changes for the better. If you feel that isn’t occurring or have concerns about leadership or culture, we want to hear those and encourage you to use our Open Door policy.

Too much favoritism

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

The work is great, the benefits are good, the pay is ok

Cons

Too much favoritism!! We have lost several great employees because 1 operator doesn't like them and does everything they can to make them look bad. Then when they go to management to file a harassment complaint, they are "forced to resign". Someone needs to put a top to this!
