Pros

A paycheck. Most of my peers and direct management were good people and friends.

Cons

Inconsistant policy and direction from upper management. Perpetual pay and hiring freezes, furloghs, increase medical costs and eleimination of 401K.

Pros

Xerox is a great company to work for in terms of the actual work done. The engineering teams work well together and the environment is collaborative and interesting. The work done is fun and challenging. The hours are standard, although one might understandably have to work stretches of long overtime to meet deadlines, but that's not a negative thing and is expected with engineering work. The compensation package is competitive.

Cons

The only downside to working at Xerox are the constant reductions in force and layoffs. Few engineering folks feel secure about their position. Layoffs are a yearly phenomenon and have been for a long time.
