Pros

Normal working hours, no on-call rotation for this specific position.

Cons

- Salary is low for the area - Company severely undervalues their employees - Technology in use is grossly out of date - Very low retention rate for new, out-of-college talent - Very little room to make a difference due to stubborn and rooted older employees On my particular team, following a software development lifecycle was a joke. Everyone was cowboy coding with little-to-no leverage of tools to ensure a high quality codebase. Senior level people did not have the proper level of education or training in good engineering practices. My manager mentioned that no one was experienced in object oriented programming. New college grads should stay far, far away from this place as you will learn virtually nothing from this old, archaic work environment.
