Pros

There are too many: - perfect offices - great conditions for working, very comfortable working places, rooms, negotiation rooms, kitchens and all - great atmosphere, everyone wants to create excellent product, no one works only for money - great projects, perfect experience - very clever and skilled co-workers - premiums and food compensations, free parkings

Cons

Nobody likes to document and write comments in code. There is no any requirement to do this, no general code style, requirements to write tests etc. So this totally depends on the project and its team lead. So the incoming barrier for the new-comer is pretty high as code is not documented at all. Another one - too many non-suitable functional approaches for coding in Java that often results in bad-readable code.

They return employees to Russia, threatening them with dismissal. Lack of career growth. The HR department suggested leaving Yandex to gain experience by working for two years at another company, then returning to Yandex with enhanced skills and knowledge.
