      Headstrong management with short-term focus - not recommended

      Pros

      * A few pockets of innovative technology left * Decent health benefits and vacation time * Many people work from home regularly

      Cons

      * Since 2016-17, ams focuses on near-term strategies. Big projects started, and when it appears that development/sales won’t be as easy as we thought, we scale down or cancel the projects, a few people get fired, and then we repeat the cycle. * Top management doesn’t want to discuss strategy--you do what you're told, or you can find a new job. Too many VPs and directors adding nothing. Middle/lower managers may know a strategy is unwise, but most will follow it out of fear for their jobs. * Negotiate your base salary well because that’s the only thing you can count on. Bonuses, raises, 401k matching have been drastically lowered or eliminated.

      It may not be a good company if you prefer work life balance

      ams is a (bit) mess!

      Big company, big labs. From the die design phase up to the real silicon, everything is there!

      Cons

      Some business line are really a mess. A lot of internal bureaucracy some time almost ridiculous.
