In Chief Healthcare Executive, Trinity Health leaders Mike Prokic and Nick O’Connor describe how the health system’s move to Epic sparked a broader effort to retire legacy applications—one that has saved $80 million and counting, with estimated savings expected to exceed $100 million. What began as a defined project evolved into an ongoing program the leaders call a “big differentiator” for the organization. Baking news! It’s National Croissant Day. Crust me when I say our croissants are butter than anyone else’s, which explains why the Culinary team serves over 200,000 croissants in a year. They often don’t have leftovers, but if they do, they are donated or put out as snacks for even more people to enjoy.
